Privacy Policy

Your Privacy Matters to Us

This Privacy Policy explains how Vibseek handles personal data across Vibseek Samples, Vibseek Studio, and Vibseek MusicMapper.

Last updated: May 11, 2026

Controller and Scope

Vibseek GbR (Aleksander Banjanin Morato and Francois Wurmus), Colbestr 29, 10247 Berlin, Germany ("Vibseek," "we," "our," or "us") is the controller of personal data covered by this Privacy Policy for the current consumer-facing Vibseek portfolio.

This policy applies to our current products and related interactions:

  • Vibseek Samples
  • Vibseek Studio
  • Vibseek MusicMapper
  • our website, waitlists, newsletter signups, and support communications tied to those products

Product Data Flow Overview

Vibseek Samples

Vibseek Samples is a cloud-based experience. Interactions such as search, discovery, listening, downloads, newsletter signup, waitlist forms, and support requests may result in information being sent to Vibseek and its current service providers.

Vibseek Studio and Vibseek MusicMapper

Vibseek Studio and Vibseek MusicMapper are local-first desktop products. Your project files, audio files, and other creative working files stay on your device by default unless you explicitly choose to send something to us, for example through support, feedback, or opt-in diagnostics.

Information We Collect

Depending on the product and your actions, we may collect:

  • Contact and form data: name, email address, product interests, DAW preferences, operating system information, newsletter choices, and support messages.
  • Samples interaction data: search or prompt inputs, browsing behavior, download history, preferences, and related product interaction events.
  • Website and analytics data: browser and device information, page views, broad region, referrer or campaign source information, and similar usage data. Some baseline traffic measurement is collected in anonymous cookieless form, while richer interaction and flow data is collected when you opt in to optional persistent analytics.
  • Communications: emails you send us, replies we send you, waitlist confirmations, newsletter signup confirmations, and newsletter subscription records.
  • Optional desktop diagnostics: if you explicitly opt in, diagnostic data such as app version, operating system version, crash details, performance metrics, and general feature-usage information.

We do not intentionally collect your Studio or MusicMapper project files or audio content as part of routine use. If you deliberately attach files or screenshots in a support request, we will process what you send us for that request.

How We Use Your Information

  • to operate and improve Vibseek Samples and related web experiences;
  • to manage waitlists, early-access requests, product communications, and newsletter subscriptions, including double-opt-in confirmation emails;
  • to respond to support requests, bug reports, and user feedback;
  • to monitor product reliability, prevent abuse, secure the service, and troubleshoot technical issues;
  • to understand product usage through privacy-aware analytics and improve features, flows, and performance; and
  • to comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms, and protect Vibseek, users, and third parties.

Legal Bases for Processing

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases as relevant to the specific processing:

  • Contract or steps prior to contract: for providing requested product access, handling waitlists, download interactions, and responding to product-related requests.
  • Legitimate interests: for core security, service administration, fraud prevention, debugging, and limited anonymous audience measurement and operational analytics where appropriate.
  • Consent: for marketing emails, optional persistent website analytics, desktop diagnostics, or crash reporting you expressly choose to enable.
  • Legal obligations: where we must retain, disclose, or otherwise process data to comply with law or respond to lawful requests.

Desktop Diagnostics and Support Uploads

Vibseek Studio and Vibseek MusicMapper are intended to be local-first. Diagnostic or crash-reporting features should be treated as optional and opt-in.

When you opt in to diagnostics, the reports may include technical information such as app version, device or operating system details, crash traces, performance data, and general feature-usage information.

Those diagnostics are not intended to include your project files or audio content. If you choose to send files, screenshots, or other materials through support channels, we will use them only to investigate and respond to the request you made.

How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal data only where reasonably necessary to run the current products, communicate with you, secure the service, or comply with law.

Our current stack evidenced in this project includes:

  • Supabase for database and related backend infrastructure.
  • Resend for transactional or product-related email delivery.
  • PostHog for anonymous audience measurement and consented product and website analytics.
  • Google Analytics for website analytics after you opt in to analytics cookies.

We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect rights and security, or as part of a corporate reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses a small amount of essential browser storage and similar technologies so the site works properly. This includes remembering your cookie choice, keeping forms and sessions working as expected, and supporting basic security.

Vibseek also uses cookieless PostHog to measure baseline traffic metrics such as page views, landing pages, broad geographic region, and traffic sources. That anonymous audience measurement is designed not to use analytics cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage for unconsented visits.

We use optional persistent analytics technologies only if you opt in. In the current setup, that includes Google Analytics and PostHog. If you reject optional analytics cookies, Vibseek keeps that richer persistent tracking off and continues only the anonymous baseline audience measurement described above.

We use browser localStorage for certain essential website features, such as remembering your consent choice and keeping some form or session-related features working where relevant to the product flow. When you have not opted in to persistent analytics, Vibseek does not use browser cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage for analytics persistence.

If you opt in to analytics, Vibseek may also log richer website interaction data such as return visits, broader device or browser characteristics, and selected interaction events such as prompt or waitlist flow steps so we can improve product discovery and onboarding. We aim to keep that optional analytics focused on product improvement rather than advertising. Vibseek intends to keep raw IP retention disabled in PostHog and rely on cookieless aggregation for unconsented visits.

You can change your analytics choice at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Browser controls may also let you limit cookies or similar storage, but doing so may affect functionality.

International Data Transfers

Vibseek operates from Germany, but some of our service providers may process data in countries outside your own jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.

Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide the relevant product or communication, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.

  • waitlist and early-access data is retained for product access, launch communication, and related follow-up;
  • newsletter data, including pending confirmation records and confirmed subscription records, is retained until you unsubscribe or we no longer need it for the relevant communications;
  • consent preference state stored in your browser is retained until you clear it, change it, or we need to refresh it after a material update to our analytics setup or this policy;
  • support and diagnostic records are retained for troubleshooting, security, and product improvement for a period appropriate to those purposes; and
  • some records may be retained longer if required for legal, accounting, or security reasons.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:

  • access information we hold about you;
  • request correction of inaccurate data;
  • request deletion of personal data in certain cases;
  • restrict or object to certain processing;
  • receive a portable copy of certain data; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, such as marketing emails, optional diagnostics, or website analytics.

If you are in California, you may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and related laws, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, and receive a portable copy of certain personal information, as well as the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

Based on the current setup described in this policy, Vibseek does not present itself as selling personal information for money or operating a broad third-party advertising profile-sharing model.

You can revisit website analytics consent at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect personal data, but no system can guarantee absolute security. You should also protect your own environment, devices, local files, and backups, especially when using local-first desktop software.

Children's Privacy

Vibseek products are intended for creators and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age required by applicable law, and in any event not knowingly from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal obligations, or operational updates. The latest version will be posted here with an updated date.
