This Privacy Policy explains how Vibseek handles personal data across Vibseek Samples, Vibseek Studio, and Vibseek MusicMapper.
Last updated: May 11, 2026
Vibseek GbR (Aleksander Banjanin Morato and Francois Wurmus), Colbestr 29, 10247 Berlin, Germany ("Vibseek," "we," "our," or "us") is the controller of personal data covered by this Privacy Policy for the current consumer-facing Vibseek portfolio.
This policy applies to our current products and related interactions:
Vibseek Samples is a cloud-based experience. Interactions such as search, discovery, listening, downloads, newsletter signup, waitlist forms, and support requests may result in information being sent to Vibseek and its current service providers.
Vibseek Studio and Vibseek MusicMapper are local-first desktop products. Your project files, audio files, and other creative working files stay on your device by default unless you explicitly choose to send something to us, for example through support, feedback, or opt-in diagnostics.
Depending on the product and your actions, we may collect:
We do not intentionally collect your Studio or MusicMapper project files or audio content as part of routine use. If you deliberately attach files or screenshots in a support request, we will process what you send us for that request.
Where the GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on the following legal bases as relevant to the specific processing:
Vibseek Studio and Vibseek MusicMapper are intended to be local-first. Diagnostic or crash-reporting features should be treated as optional and opt-in.
When you opt in to diagnostics, the reports may include technical information such as app version, device or operating system details, crash traces, performance data, and general feature-usage information.
Those diagnostics are not intended to include your project files or audio content. If you choose to send files, screenshots, or other materials through support channels, we will use them only to investigate and respond to the request you made.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share personal data only where reasonably necessary to run the current products, communicate with you, secure the service, or comply with law.
Our current stack evidenced in this project includes:
We may also disclose information where required by law, to respond to lawful requests, to protect rights and security, or as part of a corporate reorganization, sale, or transfer of the business.
Our website uses a small amount of essential browser storage and similar technologies so the site works properly. This includes remembering your cookie choice, keeping forms and sessions working as expected, and supporting basic security.
Vibseek also uses cookieless PostHog to measure baseline traffic metrics such as page views, landing pages, broad geographic region, and traffic sources. That anonymous audience measurement is designed not to use analytics cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage for unconsented visits.
We use optional persistent analytics technologies only if you opt in. In the current setup, that includes Google Analytics and PostHog. If you reject optional analytics cookies, Vibseek keeps that richer persistent tracking off and continues only the anonymous baseline audience measurement described above.
We use browser localStorage for certain essential website features, such as remembering your consent choice and keeping some form or session-related features working where relevant to the product flow. When you have not opted in to persistent analytics, Vibseek does not use browser cookies, localStorage, or sessionStorage for analytics persistence.
If you opt in to analytics, Vibseek may also log richer website interaction data such as return visits, broader device or browser characteristics, and selected interaction events such as prompt or waitlist flow steps so we can improve product discovery and onboarding. We aim to keep that optional analytics focused on product improvement rather than advertising. Vibseek intends to keep raw IP retention disabled in PostHog and rely on cookieless aggregation for unconsented visits.
You can change your analytics choice at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer. Browser controls may also let you limit cookies or similar storage, but doing so may affect functionality.
Vibseek operates from Germany, but some of our service providers may process data in countries outside your own jurisdiction. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections, adequacy decisions, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including to provide the relevant product or communication, maintain records, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, improve reliability, and comply with legal obligations.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including the right to:
If you are in California, you may also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act and related laws, including the right to know, access, correct, delete, and receive a portable copy of certain personal information, as well as the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.
Based on the current setup described in this policy, Vibseek does not present itself as selling personal information for money or operating a broad third-party advertising profile-sharing model.
You can revisit website analytics consent at any time through the Cookie Preferences link in the footer.
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to help protect personal data, but no system can guarantee absolute security. You should also protect your own environment, devices, local files, and backups, especially when using local-first desktop software.
Vibseek products are intended for creators and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below the minimum age required by applicable law, and in any event not knowingly from children under 13.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect product changes, legal obligations, or operational updates. The latest version will be posted here with an updated date.
